She has more than 20 years´ experience in metal enginnering and recycling research. In particular, her main areas of interest include the recovery of metals from waste materials (such as electronics, batteries, and catalysts) and the potential use of microorganisms in recycling processes. She is the author and co-author of over 70 scientific publications, an academic textbook, and a patent. She is actively involved in promoting and popularizing science in the fields of recycling and chemistry.
